Appointed as “Special Advisor for Cultural Exchange Agency” by Agency for Cultural Affairs of Japan, Kubo carried out cultural exchange activities in USA from December, 2009 through March, 2010. He stayed in New York City and visited West Virginia, Tennessee, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, organizing numerous lectures and workshops to share Japanese culture through his Kirié works, which he has been practicing for over 38 years. His activities were often introduced on local newspapers as well as the  TV program “Jonetsu Talk” aired throughout North America.
